BOGOR INDONESIA - Head of the World Bank Representative for Indonesia and Timor Leste, Satu Kahkonen, is considered to have interfered too much in the campaign program planned by the government, Tuesday (27/02/2024).
Rafli Maulana, a young activist, believes that Satu Kehkonan should respect the vote count for the 2024 presidential election which is still being carried out by the KPU.
"I think that Satu Kehkonen is interfering too much, in fact there is no need to interfere in this matter because it is still political in nature, the program is just a campaign program which has not been implemented by the program owner, because the KPU's legal calculations have not been determined, " said Rafli (01/03/2024).
He also emphasized that the IMF should stop its long-standing intervention against Indonesia.
"In fact, this is not the first time the IMF has intervened against Indonesia.
If we open the history books, this is not the first time the IMF has done this. Since independence, the IMF has intervened in Indonesian affairs several times and sometimes it has led to conflicts and bloody trails, " he said.
Apart from that, the man who is also the former President of Untirta Students questioned why world banks always interfere in Indonesia's domestic affairs.
"From the limits of his duties as a representative of the World Bank, according to him, commenting on the campaign program of one of the presidential candidates who is still contesting is a form of arrogance that has recklessly interfered in Indonesian political affairs, " he said.
Rafli also asked the Minister of Foreign Affairs to take a firm stance on Satu Kehkonen's statement.
"Apart from that, the Indonesian government, represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, must actually be more strict with the World Bank, because indirectly the World Bank considers that Indonesia can be dictated to and can be regulated by it.
